Good morning! Here's the tech news you need to know this Friday.

1. Hewlett Packard Enterprise has won another huge victory over Oracle and just over $3 billion in damages. The damages come after Oracle took a decision some years ago to stop making software for HPE's high-performance servers built on Intel's Itanium chip.

2. Facebook's Paper app is officially shutting down. Users of the news curation app, which launched in February 2014, were alerted to the shutdown via a message when they opened the app.

3. Apple is reportedly in talks to buy music streaming service Tidal. The service was started by rapper Jay-Z.

4. Google's Spain HQ in Madrid has been raided by local authorities that are investigating the company's tax arrangements. A similar raid took place in Paris less than a month ago.

5. Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren said companies like Apple "snuff out competition," and that "threatens our democracy." She also took aim at Google and Amazon.

6. Google's next smartphone operating system update is called "Nougat". The company always names its mobile OS updates after a sweet treat.

7. Zoox, the super-stealth self-driving-car startup, has closed a $200 million round of funding, according to a source familiar with its fundraising plans. Zoox has been working in secret on a fully autonomous car for years.

8. Google Calendar went down for some people for several hours on Thursday. Users took to Twitter to complain.

9. Silicon Valley venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins has raised $1.4 billion to invest in technology startups. The fund backed the likes of Google and Amazon in their early days.

10. Uber is planning to monitor the speed and driving behavior of its drivers. The company announced four new safety features for its taxi-hailing app on Wednesday that will give it a better insight into how its drivers move around cities.
