Tesla threw a massive party to celebrate its new Model X SUV by Benjamin Zhang on Sep 30, 2015, 10:53 AM Advertisement
Tesla unleashed its new Model X SUV upon the automotive world in dramatic fashion Tuesday night with a massive party at a facility near the company's Fremont, California factory. The event was attended by thousand of Tesla owners, potential buyers, company employees, and members of the media. The Tesla Model X crossover is one of the most eagerly awaited vehicles in recent memory. The company already has more than 25,000 orders for the X with a backlog of 8 to 12 months. The Model X is truly unique in the automotive world. Although there are plenty of electric vehicles on the road and even a couple of electric SUVs for sale, none of them live in the high-performance luxury realm normally occupied by the likes of Porsche, BMW and Range Rover. After years of development and an initial production run which Elon Musk described as "very difficult," the Model X is finally ready for delivery. Eventually, the crowd was allowed to migrate over to the presentation hall. All we are missing now is Elon Musk and his electric SUV.
And here he is! The crowd goes wild and so do their smart phones.
