The San Francisco 49ers will fire both head coach Chip Kelly and general manager Trent Baalke sometime after their season finale on Sunday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Kelly is in his first season as head coach of the 2-13 49ers and has three years remaining on his contract. Baalke has been general manager of the 49ers since 2011, after starting with the team as a scout in 2005. He has two years left on his contract. According to Schefter's sources, both Kelly and Baalke are aware that they will be dismissed. It is unclear when a formal announcement will be made, however, Schefter reports that the 49ers will meet after Sunday's game against the Seahawks or on Monday. Kelly was unable to revive the 49ers offense this season, as the team averaged just 17.9 points per game, 27th in the NFL. Kelly previously spent three seasons as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, winning ten games each of his first two seasons and going to the playoffs once.
