The ecommerce giant has acquired Blink, a startup that makes wireless home-security cameras. Blink announced the news on its website, but terms of the deal haven't been disclosed. Customers who already own a Blink system won't see any change, the company wrote. Instead, Blink will continue to make and sell its cameras under the Amazon umbrella. Amazon's push into the home security space may have something to do with one of its chief rivals in the smart-home space, Google. Nest, which is owned by Google's parent company Alphabet, makes both indoor and outdoor security cameras, though they cost about twice as much as Blink's $99 system.
