American Airlines and its oneworld alliance partners are offering some phenomenal prices on flights from New York City to Milan, Italy. If you book now, you can fly round-trip between the two cities for a little more than $400, but hurry; these fares will likely only last a day or two, though they could disappear at any time! Prices/Availability With sales and flight deals like this, there isn't often a set price; instead, there's a bottom price range. In this case, flights are in the low $400s, with $418 being the lowest displayed price, ranging up to around $440. The low fares are only available out of New York's JFK International Airport (with slightly higher prices available from nearby Newark International Airport), but if you live near another city it could be worth booking a cheap connecting flight to New York to take advantage of the sale. Dates There are round-trips available on dates between January and March 2018, for trips lasting anywhere from three days to a few weeks. A few example dates I found were January 12–18 for $430, January 17–25 for $418, and February 9–17 for $426. Don't be surprised if you can't find the same exact prices for these dates — prices can fluctuate a small amount every few minutes. Booking To find dates and buy tickets, visit your favorite travel booking site — for this deal, I found Priceline did the best job of searching dates and finding the right prices. Play with the dates if you aren't finding the right prices — with deals like these, sometimes you find a lower price if you tweak the days, for example, by leaving on a Thursday instead of a Friday. One thing I find notable about this sale is that weekend travel is included in the low rates, which isn't always the case. Make sure to pay attention to whether your flight is a nonstop or has a layover. Flights operated by American Airlines or Emirates will generally be nonstop, but flights on American's oneworld partners, such as British Airways or Finnair, may have a layover. Also keep in mind that, because many airlines in an alliance can sell tickets for travel on its partners, your ticket may be issued by a different airline than the one you're actually flying on. For instance, you may buy the ticket through Finnair, but the flight will actually be on American. Don't worry if that happens — it's just Priceline selecting the cheapest possible way to get the ticket. Good luck, and happy travels!
