A rough week for Apple points to more problems down the road

This week Apple was not only dealt a negative class-action lawsuit ruling by the US Supreme Court, but now rising trade tensions with China threaten to impact iPhone demand.

What does this ruling mean for Apple? The company will now have to defend its practices in a lower court, opening it up to losses in the future if it fails to defend its position.

What could a trade war mean for Apple? Apple is especially vulnerable to a trade war with China because that's where it assembles the iPhone. Higher tariffs would force the firm to either absorb the costs or increase the price of its devices — which many consumers already deem too expensive.
