Flights to Stockholm are less than $400 for late-spring travel — book quickly so you don't miss out by David Slotnick on Jan 5, 2018, 11:51 AM The Insider Picks team writes about stuff we think you'll like. If you're interested in enjoying some beautiful spring weather in Europe, United is offering discounts on round-trip, nonstop flights to Stockholm, Sweden during May and June. The flights are available from New York City, but for these fares, it could easily be worth finding a cheap positioning flight to New York if you live elsewhere. This deal won't last long — there are a limited number of discounted tickets on each available date. If you find dates that work you should book as soon as possible. Prices/Availability There's a range of prices available, generally between $397–$412 for nonstop flights. Worth noting: since United is a full-service airline, checked bags, seat assignments, and in-flight meals and drinks are all included. You may find cheaper fares on Icelandic low-cost carrier WOW, but you'll have a layover in Reykjavik and will have to pay extra for everything — even carry-on luggage. If the United deal is gone, though, it may be worth booking with WOW. Dates There are limited dates available in May and June. Some examples at time of publication include May 6–14 for $397 and May 21–June 1 for $397. Normal prices for these dates range from the high $400s to the $800s. Booking To get the best prices, search for flights from Newark (EWR) to Stockholm (ARN) on travel search site Momondo. Then, adjust the dates as needed to find the right prices, and click the link to book. To make sure that the best priced nonstop flights are listed first, click the "Best" tab on the results page. Keep in mind that I was only able to pull up some of these prices by searching Momondo, which is my go-to site for flight discounts. I wasn't necessarily able to find the same prices directly with the airline or through other tools like Google Flights. Also note that the flights may be listed as sold by either United or German carrier Lufthansa. Either way, though, the flight will be operated by United. Because the two airlines are partners in the Star Alliance network, they're able to sell each other's tickets. Momondo may have found that it was slightly cheaper to book through Lufthansa instead of United. Good luck, and happy travels! SEE ALSO: This is the best time of year to find cheap flights |
