An Insider deep dive from the DC bureau's Kayla Epstein profiles the 38 Supreme Court clerks for the new term that started in October. This is one of the most coveted jobs in Washington that puts young lawyers on the fast track to partnerships and careers in politics and corporate America.
No one is also more integral to keeping the nation's most important courtroom running like the clerks who help the justices choose which cases to take, prepare them for oral arguments and in writing early drafts of decisions

"You can think of them like Santa's elves, if the justices are Santa," said the founder of the Above the Law website that chronicles law firms and the legal profession.
