With White House communications director Hope Hicks announcing her resignation on Wednesday, she gave up her position as President Donald Trump's longest-tenured aide. Now that title belongs to White House social-media director Dan Scavino, the lone remaining Trump aide whose been by the president's side since he launched his bid for the Oval Office in June, 2015. Scavino's relationship with Trump dates back decades. In 1990, he worked as Trump's golf caddie at the New York golf club that would later become Trump National Golf Club Westchester. Like many in Trump's orbit, Scavino has caught himself in a number of controversies. In his case, they relate to his tweets from the president's personal Twitter, as Scavino is one of just a handful of aides who tweets from the Trump account. Scavino has been called the president's "mini-me" in terms of how his online persona matches Trump's. SEE ALSO: Hope Hicks, one of Trump's closest confidants and longest-tenured aide, is resigning |
