EXCLUSIVE: Traders are jumping ship at Deutsche Bank's vaunted credit desk as bonuses shrink

Deutsche Bank has seen a rash of departures this year in its credit-trading group, one of the bank's top businesses.

Exits have shrunk headcount in the firm's vaunted US distressed-credit group, and have hit high-yield, investment-grade, and loan trading as well.

Sources told Business Insider even strong performers in the credit franchise saw their comp slashed earlier this year, which likely spurred some departures.

All of this has left Deutsche short-handed during one of the most active and volatile credit-trading markets in the past decade. It has active searches underway to hire in distressed, high-yield, and investment-grade trading, sources said.
