Here's how much each employee at a big tech company like Apple or Facebook is worth

by Matt Rosoff on Feb 2, 2016, 12:58 PM

A lot of investors are down on Apple after its middling earnings report last week, which included guidance that iPhone sales are starting to fall. Google's parent company Alphabet even surpassed Apple to become the most valuable company in the world.

But there's still one metric where Apple wins: revenue per employee. The company booked more than $2 million for each of its 110,000 employees in its last fiscal year, which ended September 30, 2015. Facebook is in second place, thanks to its relatively lean staff (only 12,691 employees at the end of 2015), and Alphabet/Google is in third.
