Facebook's Virtual Reality Debacle

Facebook acquired virtual reality company Oculus for $2 billion in 2014.

The purchase brought with it the promise of taking technology into the next era.

But now, Oculus CEO Palmer Luckey is on his way out, as the company has made headlines for all the wrong reasons, such as accusations that it stole the technology upon which it based its product.

Facebook had to pay $500 million in legal costs as a result, and the entire Oculus era has been a fiasco so far.
