best bar carts

The Insider Pick:

  • The perfect bar cart has room to store all the bottles and glasses you need, has wheels for easy mobility, and fits perfectly with every home aesthetic.

  • The Metal and Wood Geneva Bar Cart from World Market is our top pick because it’s sleek, inexpensive, comes with wine and stemware storage, and its versatile look works in any room.

Bar carts are the newest fad in interior decorating, perfectly accompanied by tiny cacti, quote boards, chrome ice buckets, and a bottle of Israel’s finest.

With so much variety, you want to choose the bar cart that’s best for your personal style, whether that’s vintage with stained dark wooden shelves, more modern with glass and gold accents, or more boho-chic with handwoven handles.

You also want your bar cart to meet your storage needs without overcrowding your living room. If you’re a party-thrower, the cart should feature more shelves, hold more weight, and come with more stemware storage. If you’re a Manhattanite in a studio apartment, you may want to downsize and go for a more simple, minimalistic look that can easily be housed in the corner of the room.

We’ve scoured the internet for the top-rated, best-selling bar carts in a variety of price ranges from under $50 to just over $1,700.

The best bar cart overall

Why you'll love it: The World Market Geneva Bar Cart has a versatile look, with both classic wooden shelves and modern metal detailing.

The Geneva bar cart is a modest size, measuring 27 inches wide, approximately 13.4 inches deep, and a little over 34 inches high. It’s large enough to make a statement in a room yet small enough to fit snugly in a corner.

The cart mixes both vintage wood with a modern nickel-finished frame to create a truly elegant look that will complement any room, regardless of individual style. Plus, you can easily remove the cart when the night is over with help from its locking caster wheels.

The built-in wine rack can hold up to five bottles, and the stemware racks can hold at least four glasses, depending on size. The cart also has space for multiple liquor bottles and cocktail shakers, as well as plenty of storage to hold your limes, salt, and all other necessities.

This stylish cart is our first pick due to its wide appeal, nearly 5-star average rating, and affordable price. The Geneva cart also comes recommended by Best Products, and it boasts a 4.5-star rating on World Market’s website. The buyer reviews say the Geneva cart is “very functional,” “the perfect size,” and “very easy to put together.”

A few reviewers complained that they wished the cart were bigger. But other reviewers also said the cart came bigger than they expected. As long as you pay attention to the dimensions and measure to ensure that it'll work in your space, you'll be fine.

Pros: Inexpensive, versatile look for different design styles, additional storage

Cons: May be small based on your storage needs

The best bar cart under $50

Why you'll love it: The affordable RASKOG Home Storage Utility Cart is a no-fuss, simplistic bar cart with three shelves that can hold all your bottles.

In beige, black, or red, the versatile, multi-purpose RASKOG cart from Ikea would look as natural filled with an array of craft beers as it would filled with potted eucalyptus plants. It's the bar cart that doesn't even know it's a bar cart.

The cart measures 13.8 by 17.8 by 30.8 inches, so it won't take up to much space in your home. There are four caster wheels on the bottom, so it's easy to move around, too. Because it's all metal, the cart is easy to clean and easy to assemble, according to buyers.

Although it's on the smaller size, Ikea maximized the storage on this cart with three shelves. The middle shelf is adjustable, too, in case you need more room for all your liquor and wine bottles. Best of all, it's very affordable, costing less than $50.

Apartment Therapy called the cart "posh and petite," adding that it's an "inexpensive way to score some extra storage." Around 88% of the 201 Amazon reviewers gave it a perfect 5-star rating, too.

Amazon shopper NaTasha Franklin praised the cart, saying, "Purchased this cart for a Basket Raffle for my daughter's gymnastics team. We made a mobile bar cart with beer, wine, liquor and supplies/tools for drinks. We named it Mommy's Little Helper. It turned out very well and everyone loved this little cart."

Pros: Multi-purpose, affordable, choice of color

Cons: No bar cart-specific features (like a wine-rack)

The best modern bar cart

Why you'll love it: The Holly & Martin Zephs Bar Cart, with its metal frame and tempered glass shelves, is perfect for the modern, art-deco-inspired home.

The Holly & Martin Zephs bar cart is sleek, modern, and stylish with its powder-coated metal frame and tempered glass shelves. At 40 inches wide, 15 inches in diameter, and a little over 37 inches high, this bar cart is slightly larger than the others in our guide, so it's great for the social butterfly who has a lot of cocktail making accessories.

The four separate glass shelves can each hold up to 40 pounds of your favorite cocktail mixings and accessories. The cart's additional bottle and stemware storage can house up to four bottles of wine and eight wine or martini glasses.

One Amazon reviewer found a way to store even more on the cart, claiming “it can fit up to 16 wine glasses, including martini glasses and flutes.”

The reviewer also said that “it was very easy to assemble and only took about an hour to do so. It is extremely functional, spacious, and sturdy. It holds four wine bottles with room underneath for syrups, soda, etc. I never write reviews but this cart deserved one!”

Holly & Martin Zephs' bar cart also comes recommended by New York Magazine’s The Strategist, as it was included in its list of best bar carts.

Pros: Lots of storage, including wine and stemware

Cons: Some reviewers had difficulty with the assembly
