Here's where Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders stand on the issues by Maxwell Tani and Samantha Lee on Oct 13, 2015, 12:41 PM Though Hillary Clinton is still the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, she's increasingly seeing a real challenge from the left from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont). Sanders has galvanized the progressive left, and he has become a threat to win more left-leaning, early-voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire. On many issues, however, Clinton and Sanders aren't that far apart. Particularly on women's rights and women's-health issues, Sanders' and Clinton's positions are seemingly identical — both support equal-pay bills, both favor universal pre-kindergarten education programs, and both support paid family leave. They're also fairly close together on issues like immigration and some aspects of campaign finance. But despite some similarities, Sanders remains a challenger with legitimate claims to run as a progressive alternative to Clinton.
