In 2015, Adele proved that celebrities don't have to be in your face all the time to be successful

by Ian Phillips and Ben Nigh on Jan 3, 2015, 11:30 AM

Adele had a huge year in 2015.

Her latest album, "25," shattered records. In its first three days of release, it sold 2.3 million copies. In addition, it's the fastest-selling album of all time.

Besides the fact that the new album is awesome, there is one big reason that Adele blew up so much this year: she disappeared.

Before "25" came out, it had been four years since her last album, "21," debuted, and two years since she won an Oscar for the memorable "Skyfall" theme song.

After that, she kept quiet. She spent that time raising her son and working on her music. Then, in October, she hit us with "Hello." Everyone heard the smash hit and realized how much they missed Adele's music. She hadn't been overexposed at all.

In an age when everyone is tweeting all the time, Adele proved that keeping a low profile can be a good thing. It just makes the hype even better.
