The top 10 travel destinations for private jet owners this July 4

by Brittany Kriegstein on Jul 1, 2016, 4:47 PM

private jet setterA record-breaking 43 million Americans will be traveling on this year's Fourth of July weekend, NBC Chicago reports.

Several thousand of the country's wealthiest will be arriving at their favorite Independence Day hangouts via private plane.

Flexjet, a private jet provider, has come up with a list of the 10 destinations most requested by their 2,100-plus customers from Friday, July 1st to Tuesday, July 5th.

Wherever Flexjet's wealthy clients are, it's safe to assume that the majority of these private jet-setters will be enjoying the festivities like the majority of us: watching the fireworks with a cold beverage in hand.

Here are the top ten locations for private jet-setters.

10. New York City

The Big Apple is a favorite among the nation's wealthiest at any time of the year, but the vibrant party scene and dozens of firework shows make it an especially attractive place to spend the Fourth.

The only possible downside: it's often hot and crowded. Hopefully, those private jet-setters will have accommodation as stylish and exclusive as their personal planes.

9. Sun Valley, Idaho

Although Idaho is not always the first state that comes to mind when you think about extravagant leisure, Sun Valley has long been a popular celebrity hangout. Visitors to this small resort city have included the likes of Ernest Hemingway, Marilyn Monroe, Oprah and Mark Zuckerberg. The summer season offers golf, shopping, and beautiful mountain scenery.

8. Bozeman, Montana

Montana is another place that seems to fly under the radar when it comes to luxury vacations for the rich and famous. But that's part of the appeal: beautiful Bozeman is nestled right next to Montana's Bridger mountains, and it's known as one of the top towns for outdoor recreation in the country. The weather is also almost guaranteed to be good— the town averages 300 days of sunshine a year, so summers are warm and dry.
