Amazon is making a name for itself within the podcast space, not only through an acquisition of podcast studio Wondery, but also by recently securing the rights to "SmartLess," one of the top shows currently in the US.

Companies including Spotify and Pandora have also been expanding their businesses in similar ways, forging exclusivity deals with popular shows and acquiring third-party audio advertising tools.
