The Commission on Presidential Debates announced the moderators for the general election debates Friday morning.

NBC "Nightly News" anchor Lester Holt will moderate the first presidential debate at Hofstra University in New York.

ABC News correspondent Martha Raddatz and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper will moderate the second presidential debate at Washington University in St. Louis.

And "Fox News Sunday" anchor Chris Wallace will moderate the third presidential debate at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.

CBS News correspondent Elaine Quijano will moderate the vice presidential debate at Longwood University in Virginia.

"These journalists bring extensive experience to the job of moderating, and understand the importance of using expanded time periods effectively," Frank J. Fahrenkopf, Jr. and Michael D. McCurry, said in a statement.

The statement added: "The formats chosen for this year's debates are designed to build on the formats introduced in 2012, which focused big blocks of time on major domestic and foreign topics. We are grateful for their willingness to moderate, and confident that the public will learn more about the candidates and the issues as a result."

The first debate will take place September 26.
