This week, The New York Times named Canada the number-one place to visit in 2017. One reason: the Canadian government has made it free to visit any of the country's more than 200 national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas for all of 2017, in honor of its 150th anniversary of confederation. Another reason is that the weak Canadian dollar makes it an especially economical destination for American travelers. The timing is appropriate.
