Business Insider's science section is looking for a full-time science reporter to join our team.

We cover everything from the latest weird animal finds and SpaceX launches to dark matter and our Earth's changing climate. Our style is smart, conversational, exciting and geared toward a general audience — no writing for scientists here.

Our science reporter will need to be able to find the latest science news before everyone else, concisely describe the intricacies of a big story, and understand why a new development is important in a larger context.

You'll be called on to write visual features, quick aggregated posts, and in-depth feature stories, among other things. We're looking for someone who loves science and is full of great story ideas.

The ideal candidate will have:

— An interest in the science trends that will shape our planet and how we live in the future.

— An understanding of how to write about science and innovation for a broad audience.

— The ability to work efficiently in a quick-turn-around environment without sacrificing accuracy and attention to detail.

— Prior experience working in a newsroom.

Interested? Submit your resume and a cover letter HERE.

Please note: This job requires that you work full-time from our Manhattan or SF headquarters. Business Insider offers competitive compensation packages complete with benefits.
