However, there are some types of products that shoppers are willing to pay to have delivered quickly or at a time of their convenience, according to a survey conducted by retail solutions provider JDA. - Expensive items are most likely to spur consumers to pay a premium delivery fee. One-third of US consumers say they would pay extra to have electronics delivered quickly or at their convenience. Shoppers who live on the nation's West Coast are most likely to feel this way.
- Groceries are also popular items that consumers are willing to pay a delivery fee for, as one in five Americans say they would.
- Meanwhile consumers are less willing to pay premium delivery for health/beauty items and do-it-yourself home products.
Brands and retailers can use this data to decide which types of products are eligible for fast delivery.
