McDonald's announced yesterday during an investor meeting that they will be serving mozzarella sticks nationwide starting in 2016.

And the internet, ever opinionated, has plenty to say on the matter. Many are overjoyed, while others liken the announcement to a legendary American geopolitical crisis

The chain started testing them in Wisconsin over the summer, and they went over extremely well, especially for those looking for a small and quick snack.

We decided to taste test this momentous addition to the Golden Arches' menu to see how the sticks stack up.

The sticks are available at some locations already, but will have a national rollout next year. You get your choice of sauce – including good, old-fashioned marinara.

With only three sticks per box, it's a small serving. But at $1 a box, it's not a bad deal.

They smell delicious — cheesy and fried to perfection. But then again, what fried food doesn't smell great?
