Trump's approval rating sinks to a new low in NBC/WSJ poll by Maxwell Tani on Oct 29, 2017, 10:25 AM Advertisement
 - President Donald Trump registered the lowest approval rating of his presidency in Sunday's NBC/WSJ poll.
- The president's approval rating has dropped to new lows in several recent polls.
President Donald Trump's approval rating hit a new low on Sunday. According to Sunday's survey, conducted by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal, just 38% of Americans approve of Trump's job performance, compared to 58% who disapprove. The telephone poll was conducted between October 23-26 among 900 adults, and had a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3.3 percentage points. The poll found that Trump's support had cratered specifically with a key constituency that has dropped in other recent polls: white people without a college degree. Among the cohort, just 51% said they approve of Trump's job performance, compared to the 58% who said they approved last month. A Fox News poll released last week showed a 38% approval rating among registered voters, and found specifically that the president's approval rating had dropped 10% among non-college educated white voters, a key bloc that supported Trump during the 2016 election. Trump's approval rating in Sunday's NBC/WSJ poll was just slightly higher than his approval ratings in FiveThirtyEight's polling aggregator, which showed the president's approval rating at 37.3% on Sunday, and slightly lower than Real Clear Politics' polling aggregator, where Trump's rating averaged 39.4% approval among recent polls.
