Digital therapeutics (DTx), a subset of digital health, are evidence-based technologies intended to prevent, mitigate, and treat health conditions and diseases. Rather than just for gathering data, these patient-facing applications are proposed to affect the treatment of individuals by enabling a positive outcome or at least directly contributing to one.

Most DTx solutions are apps or web applications, though there are some gaming and virtual reality (VR) products, too. Several rely on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as part of their treatment regimen. Think of it as turning technology into a therapeutic platform that augments conventional medication.

The global DTx landscape includes dozens of companies with products for various diseases while marketing themselves in different ways.
