Apple enforces safety protocols in response to rising COVID-19 cases

Apple temporarily closed several of its stores after a surge in COVID-19 cases among its staff, most notably a store in Texas where 22 employees tested positive. The company has enabled safety measures, including emphasizing its click and collect offering and requiring face masks. The tech giant has also announced a comprehensive plan to promote in-store safety, including regular testing and paid sick leave for its employees.

Many consumers are all for store precautions, especially during peak times like the holidays. In a survey from Sensormatic, 45% of US consumers indicated that occupancy limits would make them feel more comfortable shopping in-store for the holidays.
